PHILADELPHIA: HERE I COME

Sorry for the LOOOOOONG absence but I have had so much happen in a year!
I left my partner (about a month ago), got picked up for modeling on the East Coast and I'm even dating now! See, lots of things.......so don't be mad :)
I am so ready for the East Coast style, night life and FOOD!

I really, really, REALLY like food.

I am still in the process of finding a job and an apartment IN the city.
It is super hard to do that from across the country.
My current Bae is also coming with me to start fresh and find some meaning to life.
Living in the country is just not our style.

Well, that's my update for now.
I will keep ya posted with my adventure!

How To: Leopard Print

I think leopard print is the most intimidating thing to wear!

Either you wear it or you don't!

Over the years I found myself drawn to that and zebra print for some reason.

I always thought I would never wear it!

Now I'm pretty sure I wear some (maybe just my panties) everyday!

I'm here to help the timid, secret "leopard lovers" out!

My fave way to incorporate leopard print is in a belt!

The leopard belt adds that something to every oufit!

Wear it with all black, bold colors or even a red for those sultry nights!

I currently have a cute leopard bow belt in my store that I am LOVING!!

UPDATE: I Opened A Store!

Hey ladies!

How have all of you been?

Oh me...ya I just opened a damn store!!

Crazy huh???

Ya I have been with Poshmark and doing my online thing for a year and a half and thought to myself, hey I should just open a REAL store and sell my stuff to the town I'm in!

It has been awesome!!

I have been open almost 2 months and OMG it is so much fun!

Other than that, i will be blogging more often about "Boutique Owner" life and my dogs :)

Spring Fashion 2014

Spring is really here!!

My bulbs have been making their way through the Nevada dirt for about a week.

Are you excited? Cuz I'm excited!

I am usually a fall person because of the warmer colors for fashion but I don't know what is going on with me? I am SO excited for Spring this year!

Pastels, neon, strappy sandals.....the list goes on for like ever!

So here are some awesome trends for you to try this Spring!

1. Pastels

Pastels are pretty much the definition of Spring!

Mint, yellow, and lavender and just so beautiful!

I personally hand-picked this lavender bag for my Poshmark closet.

As usual, mint will always be my FAVE pastel :)

2. Festival Style

Fun cut-offs, vintage tees & statement necklaces make this young style.

With the upcoming festivals like Coachella & EDC, it's all about being comfy and cool with a bit of flare.

The laid-back attitude is a commitment when trying out this style.

TIP: Try a fringe handbag or a braided up-do!

3. Florals, Florals, Florals

Find this dress at ASOS.

Florals are a given for spring but this spring it's either "go big or go home!"

HUGE floral prints are so in! They are super flirty and feminine yet edgy.

I'm digging this trend! I'm more of a dark floral person but hey, you never know this year!

"Treasure Yourself" Book Review

So I heard about this book through a you-tuber and had to check it out!

This is Miranda Kerr's first book, which you can tell, out of two that speak on positive thinking and empowering yourself as a woman.

I am all about positive thinking and bettering yourself kind of books.

I used to be a HUGE reader of "The Secret."

Loved that book, loved that movie.

Talks about vision boards and positive thoughts seem to be getting really popular.

I see Mrs. Kerr is also a follower....her entire book is pretty much a re-edit of the book "The Secret" but how she applies it to her life.

I got to give her props for actually writing her OWN book and not excerpting that book.

Takes guts to get a lot of flack for that.

But on to the book.

I was excited to read some of her personal life (that I will not give away, cuz you will be in awe).

She is very down to earth and admits that she is blessed to have what she does, including her husband, son and little pup. She tells some short stories from her childhood and actually doesn't bitch that "oh my parents were mean" or "I never got to do anything as a teen" which I find refreshing for once from a celebrity.

This book is a great read. 

Only downfall is that the book is half book and half affirmation quotes.

But hey, I'm all about positive words to charge your mind! 

So pick it up!

Give it a read!

Color of the Year: Radiant Orchid

Radiant Orchid.

2014: Happy New Year

WOW! 2014 - I feel old!
It has officially been 10 years since I graduated high school!
Ya....flippin' OLD!!

Been on hiatus lately because of the holidays and my boutique!

LOVING all the new shopping apps to buy/sell gorgeous crap that I don't need! HA!

2013 went so fast for me! This year I am going to take the time to make memories that I will look back on in 2015 and think "wow, 2014 felt like forever!" Sounds good to me!

Excited for the new year and new plans coming my way!

This year I am moving!! AGAIN!!!

I tried the small town, nothing around, kinda life - not for me!

Granted, I am moving to a small town BUT in Nevada - near Tahoe!!!

Family is near, seems like the people are legit - so done with this place LOL

Dang....one of my "resolutions" is to be positive!
Ok...doing that....starting now! :)

So what are some of your resolutions?

Mine are:

1. Stay positive.

2. Not be so angry/anxious over simple things!

3. Connect more with family.

4. Move more!!!

Rose Water

Yep....you read right!

Rose water!

It is so amazing you are going to be thanking me after this read!

Rose water, it is simply distilled water and rose condensation!

It's so simple but simple is always better!

You can buy (100% form NOT rose scented water) from a health store or scroll below and make some!

Now let's get into why I am even talking about this stuff...

Rose water has been used for years in food, cosmetics and for natural beauty!

I use it as my toner/facial wash!

In the morning I take some and add it to a cotton pad and "tone" or wash my face with it.

It feels awesome and does not not over dry or make your face super oily!

It smells amazing and keeps the pimples away.

I also put a cap full and a couple green tea bags to my bath water and it naturally soothes and detoxes the skin. I feel as if I am the only person who ALWAYS puts tea bags in their bath??? LOL

You can also add it to your facial masks for soft supple skin.

So why not try it?

Why not make it yourself?

Ingredients:

2-3 quarts fresh roses or rose petals

Water

Ice cubes or crushed ice

1. In the center of a large pot (the speckled blue canning pots are ideal) with an inverted lid (a rounded lid), place a fireplace brick. On top of the brick place the bowl. Put the roses in the pot; add enough flowers to reach the top of the brick. Pour in just enough water to cover the roses. The water should be just above the top of the brick.

2. Place the lid upside down on the pot. Turn on the stove and bring the water to a rolling boil, then lower heat to a slow steady simmer. As soon as the water begins to boil, toss two or three trays of ice cubes (or a bag of ice) on top of the lid.

3. You’ve now created a home still! As the water boils the steam rises, hits the top of the cold lid, and condenses. As it condenses it flows to the center of the lid and drops into the bowl. Every 20 minutes, quickly lift the lid and take out a tablespoon or two of the rose water. It’s time to stop when you have between a pint and a quart of water that smells and tastes strongly like roses.

OMG I'm in LOVE!

If you know me, you know I suffer from plantar fasciitis....which really sucks!

I wake up almost every day and have to stretch my feet before I get out of bed.

A couple months ago I had to wear a boot for 6 weeks!!! INSANE!

Well now I am feeling much better because of my boot adventure and was able to participate in the Dr. Scholl's Active Series Influenster VoxBox! 

I am SOOOOO impressed with these inserts that I will never wear ANY shoe without them!

They make walking, running (HAHA like I run) and just household chores so much easier.

I would SO reccomend these to someone who is always on their feet!

Tips & Tricks: Kitchen Edition

EASY WAY TO PEEL POTATOES!

Boil potatoes in water until they are cooked through (time depends on size.)

Remove from water and place in a dish with ice and water for 5-10 seconds.

Then take them out and pull the skin off with your hands!

Don't believe me, TRY IT!!

HOW TO THAW MEAT FAST!

Take you meat out of the freezer and fill up your sink with luke-warm water.

Leave the meat IN THE BAG and place in the water.

Flip the bag once or twice to thaw all the way through.

Ta-Da!! Unfrozen meat (after about 10-30 mins.)

FRESH HERBS GONE BAD

This one is easy!
Go to your local freezer section near the veggies & pick up some frozen herb cubes!
I have seen a few brands out there but my FAVE is Dorot!
You can keep them in your freezer for months!
They have garlic, cilantro, basil & MORE!

Everyone knows Mary Kay® :)

I used to use some facial products back in the day when my mom was OBSESSED!!

Now in my 20's, I thought of Mary Kay® as an "older people" brand.

WOW was I wrong!!

Yes, they still have their classic TimeWise® collection BUT they also have amped up their makeup products!

Low-Fat Greek Yogurt Dressing

I am SO in hearts!!

I have found a NEW love for Greek yogurt!

OH and these Dorot cubes found in your frozen veggie section that you will use with everything!!

I mean c'mon...how awesome is Greek yogurt??

Well here is an AWESOME, spicy and low-fat dressing I concocted in my kitchen :)

Enjoy!

 Ingredients

1 pint of Plain Greek Yogurt

2 cubes OR 2 cloves of sliced garlic

2 cubes OR 2 tsp of ginger

2 cubes OR 2 tsp of chopped chili

juice of 1 lime

pepper & salt

If you use cubes, make sure to thaw in microwave or on counter!

Ground ginger is perfectly fine to substitute!

TIP: Roll your lime on the counter pressing firmly with your hand to max juice!!!

 Put all ingredients in food processor or sweet blender and blend until smooth.

Enjoy on ALL your delicious salads :)
